Microfilm Certification Program

The SC Archives Microfilm Certification Program is a program designed to educate government and commercial microfilm service facilities in what is necessary to produce quality microfilm according to the Archives standards, and is based on regulations and procedures developed under authority of the SC Public Records Act.  Microfilm service bureaus certified by the SC Archives have completed an application process, have been educated as to microfilm quality standards and required SC Archives procedures, and have demonstrated the capability for compliance.

Even a certified vendor will have a difficult time creating microfilm from damaged and illegible documents.  Please read 'What you see is what you get' for more information about standards.
